Frequently asked questions
Would you like to have an app or web application developed? We answer the most frequently asked questions:
The development of native apps is very costly and time-consuming, as a separate app has to be developed for each of the two major platforms, Android and iOS. Both platforms work with their own programming languages and technologies. This means that two different teams of developers are required.
When developing hybrid or cross-platform apps, the same technology and codebase can be used for iOS and Android. As a bonus feature, the app can often be used on other platforms such as web, Mac and Windows. As all platforms share the same codebase, development is faster and cheaper.
The development of an app for iOS and Android generally starts at around EUR 10,000. The exact final price depends largely on the desired functions, design requirements and complexity as well as the form of the requirements provided by the customer.
In our showcase, we present some of our projects and provide an insight into the approximate development costs here and there.
Let's be clear right away: cross-platform apps are generally not inferior to native apps these days.
Modern cross-platform apps now achieve the performance of native apps, have full access to hardware-related functions and also have a similar look and feel to native apps.
Prominent examples include the BMW app, eBay app, iRobot app, as well as the apps of some banks and delivery services.
It's simple: mobile apps can be installed directly on smartphones with Apple iOS or Android via the AppStore & PlayStore. Once installed, they can be opened at any time from the home screen. Mobile apps can access all hardware functions (e.g. Bluetooth) and receive push messages (e.g. for advertising purposes).
Web apps, on the other hand, run exclusively in the web browser. They can be opened on a variety of devices, such as desktop computers, smartphones, tablets and sometimes even on SmartTVs.
A combination of a web application and a mobile app is often the best option.
Every project begins with the conception phase. This is where we work with the customer to define the design and development requirements. Depending on the complexity of the application, this phase can last from a few days to several weeks.
Once the concept and design are at least in the form of sketches or mockups, the iterative and agile development process can begin. Here, our team of developers works progressively on your product. After each milestone, the customer receives a test version with the new functions.
At the end, the customer approves the product and it is published in the App and Play Stores.
The process is identical to the development of a web application. However, the final step is to deploy the application to a hosting server or cloud provider.
